5 Ways to Find your Next Cool Book to Read

Here are five ways we find our next cool book to read.

1. YourNextRead.com
http://www.yournextread.com/us/#!isbn=0756968984

Go to the Children's tag and enter the title of a book you've loved. The site gives you a map of books you might enjoy by the same author or different authors.

2. LiteratureMap.com
http://www.literature-map.com/anthony+horowitz.html

This is cool! Type in the name of a favourite author and the closest name to the author is one you might like.

3.Read blogs! Here are two of our favourites.

Bob Docherty is awesome! He comes to our school every year and recommends really great books. We like that he recommends lots of great New Zealand authors, as well as others.

Here's the Christchurch City Libraries website. You might not be from Christchurch but do visit your local library website. We bet they have a kids' section with great recommendations.

4. Biblionasium.com
http://biblionasium.com/#tab/all-books

This is great for younger children and if you read a lot of American books. It doesn't have many New Zealand books on it but it is still pretty good. It is a little bit like Facebook for children who love reading.

5. Talk to people! Talk to your friends! Talk to your teacher! Talk to your school and local librarian. What do they recommend?

    1. Dear Biblionasium,
it was our pleasure to mention you. Everyone in our class has a page on your site and yesterday one of the classes spent a long time updating them. It is a great resource.
      Thank you.

  4. I love this list, and will be sharing it with my 7th graders! I do have one more to add, however, that I discovered last week - http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/ - it has some good suggestions, too. Check it out! Thanks again - this is a great resource!
