Doll Bones by Holly Black- Read it!

Doll Bones

Our class has just finished reading a fabulous novel, Doll Bones by Holly Black. We loved it so much we urged Mrs Compton-Moen on every time she was about to stop. We recommend it to people of all ages; it is intended for children, but there was no stopping Mrs CM enjoying it!
There are three main characters, Zach, Poppy and Alice. The book is told from the perspective of Zach, a 12 year old boy that lives in two worlds. At school he plays on the basketball team and lives a normal life, but afterwards he steps into another world, full of swords and pirates and villains with Poppy and Alice.

But then something happens that changes the whole world. Something Zach will never forgive his dad for. Meanwhile, something is going on with the china doll the threesome call the queen. The doll that isn’t made out of just normal china, but bone china, and special bones too. Alice, Poppy and Zach are forced to set out on a quest to ensure their queen rests in peace...

In case you need more convincing, here's a trailer from Nellie Williams.
