A visit from Natalie King

Today for World Read Aloud Day, we met Christchurch author, Natalie King! She is the author of the newly released book; Awakening!

Today she came in to talk about her new book, Awakening. She read us the first chapter and the blurb; we were captivated in seconds.

Natalie talked to us about the process of writing books and gave us some more information about how the idea for Awakening, which is set in Lake Tekapo, came about.

Natalie also gave us some writing tips. Natalie’s 2 best tips were to read, read, read and write, write, write. She told us that author Stephen King said, "If you haven't got the time to read, then you haven't got the tools to write." Great advice!

A couple of people are writing novels for their personal projects so she had some really useful tips for them as well. You can buy your copy of Awakening at bookshops or online.
