Athletics Day

are our school house colours!

We loved getting in the house spirit for athletics day this year! Do you have houses at your school? On Friday the 7th of November, years 3-8 went to Christ College to compete in our athletics day! Everyone competed in the sprints, to see if you would make a final. The fastest 8 times in each heat were put in to a final. The races were, 100m, 60m, 80, 50 m. We all competed in two sprints each. Others competed in finals they had made, events including; Shot Put, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump, & Ball Throw. Everyone participated in house chants and they were a hit! Yellow and Green both came first and everyone joined in the fun.

Overall it was a really fun day and everyone put their best into every event they were in. The top 2 in each event go to zones, which are held every year for the independent schools, at St Andrews. We would love to hear from you about your results from your athletics day! Comment below!

Thats a really impressive summary of your athletics day and I enjoyed the photographs that went with your description. I enjoyed reading the last paragraph because that's exactly what I was going to ask as a follow up question, about the next stage of competition and where you went to next. You managed to cover all the key points that I would want to know in terms of information and details so I think you did an excellent job.

As a follow up post I would be really interested in you making a prediction about the independent schools competition at St Andrews about who you think might do really well at the competition and then you following up and describing how the Selwyn House team went. Good luck for those representing your school at the next stage of competition.
